Cathy Busch, LCSW, Individual Psychotherapy
You’ve no doubt heard, “Be careful what you are thinking, because you are the only one who is listening in there!”
What’s Happening Now
I want to know how you are, what you want for your life, and what’s getting in the way. Whether you are struggling in your relationships with family or friends, love relationships, your work environment, or you feel stuck in realizing personal aspirations for contentment and satisfaction, in individual psychotherapy, I can look together with you for the path forward. Uncomfortable emotions, such as heightened anxiety and draining depression, can be miserable to experience, and when that is happening, it suggests that something vital is missing.
When we continue to rely on the same worn out patterns of thought and action, relating to our feelings in repetitious ways, we can get very stuck. Ways of relating to ourselves and the outer world of others that were adaptive and necessary in childhood and our developing years often become ingrained and continue to operate as guidance outside of our everyday awareness. But, as adults, these ways of being may not support our aspirations for satisfying relationships, daily ease, and basic sense of well-being. We can experience life as frustrating and filled with obstacles that are getting in the way as we attempt to move forward in search of a sense of contentment.
Opening the Way Forward
In a warm and receptive space, having the experience of wise and deep listening from someone who knows the path, new ways of feeling and being in the world can begin to take hold and grow. I love nothing more than to be your partner in discovering life anew. I provide a particular kind of interaction, allowing for a deeper exploration of the learned patterns of the past that are now interfering and obstructing. With time and attention, revitalized well-being and success is within reach.
