Cathy Busch, LCSW, Relational Psychotherapy
Relationship can be thought of as that which creates us and through which we create.
We are in the midst of a scientific revolution in our understanding of the ways in which we as human beings develop and grow. Fields such as Parent-Infant Observation, Affective Neuroscience, Attachment Research, and the emerging field of Interpersonal Neurobiology are all coalescing to fuel dramatic changes in our perceptions, understandings, and practices.
We know with certainty that human beings are not developing and growing in separate and self-contained ways. Rather, from earliest infancy and onward through the lifespan, we are formed in connection with others around us. Our relationships with those people who surround us and our brains are in continual interaction, and these interactions shape who we are and who we can become.
When Things Go Wrong
For those times in our lives when difficulties arise, it is within a relationship, one that is personal or therapeutic, that healing and transformation can be found. I possess a deep comprehension, a profound grasp of the underlying dynamics that form and shape us, along with a wealth of compassion for the complexities of our experiences in being human. Through relational psychotherapy, I offer my assistance to individuals, couples, and parents in their search for the experiences that will fulfill and sustain them for their lifespan.
Help for Marin County Parents
I am particularly passionate about helping parents establish more satisfying and productive relationships with their children and teens. I offer parents a fresh way of perceiving and connecting with their children, such that their children and teens get what they really need in order to thrive today and into the future.
